 Ryan Tubridy visited Monaghan as part of 2FM Greet on the Street on 29th
February 2012. He broadcast his morning show from the Westenra Hotel,
to celebrate the Leap Year. My son, Jack Drumm, was invited along as he
was the last Leap Year baby boy born in Monaghan General hospital 12
years ago, although as Ryan commented to him he's really only 3 now!
Sound Quality Gifts treated Ryan to a sample of our personalised
goods. We gave him a ceramic Beer Stein mug, and popped a can of a well
known beer inside. The front of the Beer Stein (complete with photo of
Ryan!) read:
"Tubridy - probably the best Broadcaster & Presenter in the world ...!"
and on the back of the mug we wrote:
"...but according to the customers at Sound Quality Gifts, he's DEFINITELY the best Boradcaster & Presenter in the world!
This went down a treat (you can hear the cheer it got on YouTube!).
We
also gave him a personalised bottle of Champagne, to be presented to
the special couple - or unsuspecting man who would be proposed to on
air!!
Then we presented him with a specially personalised bar of Chocolate
(and in true Late Late Show style, we gave one to every member of his
staff that day!!) The Chocolate wrapper read "Monaghan welcomes
Ryan Tubridy as he broadcasts from the sweetest little county in
Ireland!" and "Milk Chocolate made especially for Ryan's Leap Year
Broadcast 29-2-2012"
